HVAC Contractor in Baton Rouge, LA

Drinkard Air Conditioning and Heating is a family-owned HVAC contractor. We provide AC repair, heating service, and indoor air quality solutions for residential and commercial customers throughout Southeast Louisiana.

Baton Rouge sits in a subtropical climate zone where summer temperatures regularly climb above 95 degrees and humidity stays well above 70 percent from April through October. According to NOAA, East Baton Rouge Parish averages over 75 days above 90 degrees each year, which means local HVAC systems run nearly non-stop for half the calendar. That kind of demand accelerates compressor wear, strains capacitors, and clogs condensate drains faster than in cooler climates. Many Baton Rouge homes were constructed before current energy codes took effect, meaning older ductwork and aging equipment are common challenges. Drinkard Air Conditioning and Heating has been solving these exact problems for homeowners across the region.

In 2024, the business passed to Steven Serpas and his brother-in-law, continuing the Drinkard family legacy of fair, hands-on HVAC service. Steven brings experience to every job, and the team includes technicians with relevant certifications. When you call, you reach people who actually do the work, not a call center routing your request to an unknown subcontractor.

We serve homeowners throughout East Baton Rouge Parish. Our maintenance agreement includes condenser coil cleaning, refrigerant check, capacitor inspection, drain cleaning, and evaporator coil service. Members also receive a discount on parts and priority scheduling, which matters most during peak cooling seasons. Energy-efficient equipment upgrades may also qualify for federal tax credits through the ENERGY STAR Federal Tax Credits program.
